Arkansas
On February 3, 1999 at about 4:59 p.m., a small 2.3 earthquake occured about 45.39 km southwest of Marked Tree AR. The epicenter was estimated by the USGS to be at 35.32N 90.84W.

Arkansas Earthquake Authority

The State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee of the Arkansas House of Representatives has voted to send House Bill 1835 to the full House for vote.

HB1835 would establish the Arkansas Earthquake Authority and create a "Market Assistance Program" to assist individuals in locating and securing private earthquake insurance.
